John

Aaron Becker :: Parts and Service Manager :: Partner

I have grown up in the Harley Davidson business. Starting with my father, who began working as a Harley mechanic in 1968 and later buying his own dealership when I was six years old. This is how my now partner John and I became acquainted. John was hired as a mechanic at my fathers shop.

I began riding my own motorcycle the same year my father bought the dealership and I have not been without a motorcycle since. Syndicate Cycle started with John and I being very unhappy at the dealership we were employed at after my father sold it. I was the first to leave with John following about a year later.

I have had training with Harley Davidson Motor Factory for Pro-Sell and PHD training, but I count people like my father and John for giving me the appreciation for what this business is, over and above any formal training. I enjoy hockey, skiing when time permits, my friends, and of course the motorcycles. I am currently involved in the long process of restoring my fathers motorcycle collection along with some of my own. I am presently working on the restoration of my father's 1948 Panhead, and if you have ever tried to complete a project like this, building completely new, ground up customs is much easier.

Since a couple of the other guys listed their rides I'll list a few of mine; 1998 Wide Glide, 1976 SX175 Harley Enduro that is still in need of TLC, YZ250 Yamaha,1996 GMC Z71, a 1992 Ford pick up affectionately called Pinky because of it's faded Sanford and Son paint job, and a cast of motorcycles in parts. Now onto the old man's projects that have conveniently fallen on my shoulders; 1955 Buick Special, 1962 FL with side-hack, just to name a few.

One thing that I have never been able to express adequately is how much I appreciate all the advice, encouragement and patience shown by my family members, especially my father, and I just want to say that if I am anything today it's because of him.
